Bento

The story of Bento is deeply related to food culture and even art culture, and this means that Japanese people prefer not only a deliciousness but also a good presentation.
So what is a Bento exactly? - Bento is a Japanese word of lunch box and a common type of packed meal in Japan. Rice, vegetable, and fish/or meat are included in a typical Bento, and the below one is what I made for my dad this morning!
Besides the taste, I attached great importance to its presentation and put omelettes, wieners, strawberries, which my grandma grew in her garden, and roast porks in it! And of course, a dried seasoning(fruitcake) is a must for rice to make it look good!

Best Sashimi bowl(海鮮丼) ever!

First off, look what I got to eat the past week! It looks like a jewelry box, doesn't it?Haha

As some of you may already know, my hometown, Miyagi faces the sea so that we can have absolutely fresh seafoods here! I went to the famous fish market a little far from my house for the first time in forever, and I was surprised that tons of people were lining up there for fresh sashimi bowls. The sashimi bowl what I got was ¥3000 ( around $30) so it might not be so cheap but it was absolutely worth paying! Also, there are many fish stores specializing in certain kind of seafoods, so it sounds good to buy seafoods from them and have grilled seafoods at home in summer! If you get the chance to visit Miyagi, I recommend you to go visit to have delicious sashimi bowls and fresh seafoods for sure.

Delicious food should be for EVERYONE!

Hi guys, how are you doing? I haven't posted blogs these days because of the terrible sick:(

Anyway, The reason why I titled " Delicious food for EVERYONE" for this post is that I'd like to share the story of my cousin who has been suffering from many kinds of food allergies for her whole life. My cousin is 9-year-old, and she is allergic to many stuffs like wheat, eggs, milk and so on. She once told me that she wanted to have sweets as everyone does, but you know, most of sweets are made with stuffs she is allergic to so I was really sad to hear that. A while ago, she came visit me, and then I decided to make a special pancake for her.
Here is what I made for her! Looks good???
This pancake was made with rice flour, soy milk, and some fruits instead of using stuffs she is allergic to.  I was so happy to see her smile and thought that I wanted to learn many recipes for people have food allergy as she does.

Thank you,

Nanami
